Fair wages and reporting obligations? An expert review of the new EU Pay Transparency Directive

The EU Pay Transparency Directive will become mandatory from June 2026 and presents companies with new challenges. Its aim is to reduce pay inequalities between women and men and ensure fair salary structures. Companies with 100 or more employees in particular will have to prepare for extensive reporting obligations and transparency requirements. Salary differences of more than 5 percent are only permitted if they can be justified objectively and in a gender-neutral manner.

But what does this mean in concrete terms for companies? What challenges arise in practice? And how can HR departments strategically implement the new requirements? Thomas Kronsteiner, Head of Sales Austria at Abacus Umantis AG, answers these questions in an interview. Thomas Kronsteiner is an expert in the digitalization of HR processes and supports companies in the successful transformation of their HR departments.

Find out first-hand how companies can successfully implement the new transparency requirements with digital solutions and which best practices have already proven their worth. The entire interview is available here as a PDF download available here.
