After a first selection round until September 20, 2024, we will announce the top 25. We will invite them to St. Gallen in October to present their work to a top-class business jury. The ranking of the top 6-25 will be announced at the glamorous final show on November 27, 2024. The top 5 will then pitch again in front of the final jury and the audience before the award ceremony takes place.
CHF 20,000* in total prize money awaits the five lucky winners.

The Umantis HR Student Award is open to both
- Bachelor's or Master's students and
- Bachelor's and/or Master's graduates

What are the participation requirements?
- A completed Bachelor's or Master's thesis that was submitted and assessed between 01.01.2023 and 18.08.2024
- The focus of the work should be in the area of HR/HR-IT
- The thesis must be written in German or English
- The thesis must have been written at a university or college in Germany, Austria, Liechtenstein or Switzerland
Why should I take part?
The Umantis HR Student Award is a first-class opportunity to get in touch with companies from the entire DACH region as well as renowned personalities from business and science about your thesis and to convince them of the results of your work and your HR knowledge. There are also cash prizes with a total value of CHF 20,000* and other attractive benefits.
Can I participate if my work is blocked?
Work commissioned by a company or a third party is not generally excluded from participation. However, in this case it is necessary that you enclose a declaration of consent from the company/third party with whom you have written your work with your application. You can find all further details on this in our conditions of participation can be found here.
What do I have to submit?
You must submit the following documents for successful participation:
- A 2-page executive summary of your work (we have provided you with a guideline for this. Please find it in the applicant mask)
- A certificate from your college/university confirming the final grade of your thesis
- A declaration of consent from the company/third party if you have written a paper together with them

Can I participate if I do not yet have the grade for my thesis?
For successful participation in the Umantis HR Student Awards, a certificate from your university/university of applied sciences confirming the final grade of your thesis is mandatory. Therefore, this must be enclosed with your application documents by 18.08.2024 at the latest so that we can consider your application in the further process.
Do I have to pay anything to take part?
No, we do not charge any registration fees.
Until when can I participate?
Your application must be received by us in full by 18.08.2024 at 23:59 (CET) at the latest so that we can consider it in the further award process.
Which days do I need to keep free if I want to progress?
By mid/end of September 2024, we will let you know whether your work is among the top 25 that will be allowed to pitch their work results to our renowned business jury on October 10 & 11, 2024. The finalists will then be invited to the final and the big award ceremony on November 27, 2024 in St. Gallen.
So please keep October 10 & 11, 2024 and November 27, 2024 free for the time being.
Will my travel expenses be covered if I make it to the next round or the final?
We will of course cover your travel and accommodation costs as part of the Umantis HR Student Award. You can find the exact details in our conditions of participation.
